Janney Furnace Park (Eli Henderson Park at Janney Furnace)

A historic site in Ohatchee with the remains of a stone blast furnace from 1863. It also includes a Confederate Memorial and museum of Native American and Civil War artifacts.

Chief Ladiga Trail

A rail-trail that spans nearly 40 miles from Anniston toward the Alabama–Georgia state line. Great for biking, walking, and enjoying nature.

Freedom Riders National Monument

In downtown Anniston, this monument memorializes the 1961 Freedom Riders and includes interpretive displays and a visitor center.

Oxford Performing Arts Center

Located at 100 E. Choccolocco Street, Oxford, this live-performance venue is a cultural hub for the region.

  1. Rainbow Omega
    Christian-based residential community providing homes and vocational opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.

  2. Center of Hope
    Provides addiction recovery, food, clothing, and transitional housing support, funded in part by thrift store operations.

  3. East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy
    Helps children and adults living with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities through therapies and resources.

  4. Boys & Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama
    After-school and summer programs designed to support academic success and character development in local youth.

  5. United Way of East Central Alabama
    Brings together resources and volunteers to support education, financial stability, and health programs throughout Calhoun County.

  6. Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) – East Alabama Chapter
    A volunteer arm of Alabama Power employees, APSO supports community projects, youth programs, and non-profits through hands-on service and fundraising.
